Scientific activity

Laboratory for zoocides in plant protection and protection of stored products

• Study of the biology and ecology of harmful arthropods relevant for agriculture and plant protection in the field and in storages

• Study of zoocidal effects on harmful arthropodes and rodents in the field and in storage conditions

• Monitoring of sensitivity/resistance of harmful arthropodes to zoocides

• Study of interaction effects of abiotic and biotic factors and zoocides on pests

• Study of the effects of substances/materials on harmful arthropodes and rodents in the field and in storages

• Development of optimized and new control programs for harmful arthropodes and rodents in the protection of plants grown in conventional and organic management systems

Laboratory of biocides

• Study of the biology and ecology of arthropodes (mosquitoes, cockroaches, flies and ants) and rodents affecting the public health in urban and suburban environments

• Study of the effects of biocides (of chemical and natural origin) on arthropodes and rodents affecting the public health

• Study of interaction effects of different environmental factors and biocides

• Improving the existing and developing new programs for the control of arthropodes and rodents in order to achieve safe application of biocides and reduce their negative environmental effects

Service activities for which it is authorized

• Special control over harmful insect pest Trogoderma granarium in storages

• Testing of biological efficiency of plant protection products, zoocides: insecticides, acaricides, rodenticides, nematocides, molluscicides, avicides, repelents, active ingredients, and basic substances in the procedure of registration, extension or renewal of a permit – persons authorized dr Petar Kljajić and dr Marijana Pražić Golić

• Efficiency evaluation of zoocides, active ingredients, and basic substances in the procedure for registration of plant protection products – person authorized dr Goran Andrić

• Testing of biocide efficiency in the control of mosquitoes, cockroaches, flies, ants, and rodents in line with the national Law on biocidal products and its adjoining legislature necessary for including in the temporary List of biocidal products – persons authorized dr Petar Kljajić, dr Goran Andrić and dr Marijana Pražić Golić
